Review and Blog Tour Giveaway - More Than Her by Jay McLean - 5 + Stars!

I write book reviews because of books like this. I can’t begin to tell you how much I love this writer and this series.  JMac is effin brilliant.  There is a cliffhanger and the book hangover I had been nursing was so monumental that I nicked named it the “McLeanover”. I will NEVER say what’s next…but here it goes. The cliffhanger was worth it. If this story wasn’t so spectacular and the writing so brilliant I probably would have been pissed off :) Book #3 is about to come out…I was lucky to read it.  5+ stars. One click this series now.  That is all. Xoxo – Cheri

BLURB:
For every action there is an equal or opposite reaction."For every choice you make there are rewards,
or there are consequences. It was my choice to walk away the first time. And my choice to chase her the second. But sometimes you don't get a choice, and all you get are the consequences.” "Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.”Unless that someone is Logan Matthews.Because loving him didn't give me the strength to walk away. It didn't give me the courage to fight for him. And when it was over, all it gave me was a broken heart.

More Than Her (More, #2)More Than Her by Jay McLean
My rating: 5+ of 5 stars

Where do I start?  Jay McLean knocked it out of the park with her follow up to More Than This. I was scared to read this book since the first book blew me away.  More Than Her (Book #2) exceeded my expectations.

I will say that I was a little confused in the beginning from how she switched between past and present times.  Then out of nowhere it all came together.  I cried some big ugly tears.

I am at loss for words…as I don’t want to spoil this book for anyone.  I’ll top line it.  After Logan relentlessly pursues Amanda - she agrees to go out with him.  Amanda is in a pseudo long distance relationship with a guy named Ty who is away at school.  She agrees to go on a date with Logan and one night changes everything. Amanda falls for Logan and she breaks up with her longtime boyfriend to pursue a relationship with him.  They agree to go out the next day…but he never calls. Logan feel like he isn’t good enough for Amanda since and he might have feelings for his best friends girlfriend.  SHE IS HEART BROKEN. It turns out a bad summer got even worse for Amanda. Fast forward… Logan and Amanda are off at college and run into each.  Logan ends up moving in with Amanda and her twin brother.  Logan is known as the campus man whore but he wants a second chance with Amanda. He knows he royally effed up the first time with her.   Logan has a boat load of childhood issues he is dealing with along with his feelings for Amanda.  He wants Amanda more than anything in the world.  Logan seems like the perfect boyfriend. Are things too good to be true?

“Boys in books are not better. Not compared to Logan Matthew.  I love him.”

My heart was turned into sashimi. Just cut open and raw. I had a freaking heart attack while reading the last 15% of this book.  Arghhhhh. Holy effing hell.  I wanted to reach in my Kindle and drop kick my perfect book boyfriend.

I’m writing this review a few days later and I'm still torn up. Jay McLean sucked me into this story and its characters. Reading More Than Her took me on such an emotional journey.  I felt like I was reading Colleen Hoover book with the amount of emotional build up that was happening.  I found myself so emotionally invested in Amanda and Logan’s story.  Angst...you want some?  Jay McLean is going to serve it up and take you on a roller coaster of emotion and then BOOM…the end. Yes…there is a painful cliffhanger.  If this story wasn’t so spectacular and the writing so brilliant I would be pissed off.  I am still suffering from a McLeanover (book hangover from a Jay McLean cliffy) after reading More Than Her.  I know so many people hate cliff hangers…but the hell with it.  This book is worth it. The next book is on auto download.  I love Jay McLean - cliffhanger and all. I can’t wait to see where book three goes. Reading books like this is the very reason why I write reviews… WOWwww… Five+ stars. Absolute Kindle Crack.

EXCERPT

"We're not even close to being done. I'm going to take you home and I'm going to fucking finish what I started. And when I'm done with you, you won't even remember what happened just now. All you'll remember is how I make you feel when you're screaming my name." He put his free hand on the small of my back, and that's how we stayed, with is arm wrapped around me, is fingers in my hair, my head on his chest, and my heart in his hands. Minutes went by before I felt his hand that was stroking my hair began to slow, and his breathing evened out. He'd fallen sleep. I lifted my head slowly, hoping not to wake him. And I looked at him. And I forget where I am, and how I got here. I forgot the storm outside, and all the memories associated with it. Because all I feel is him. I watched as is chest slowly rises and falls, his hair - that perfect mess, his lips slightly parted as is breath blew in and out. My gaze lingered on his lips longer than it should, but I don't kiss him. Instead, I lay my head back down and let his rhythmic breathing lull me into my own slumber. He kissed me once, softly. " I want to feel everywhere he's felt. I want to replace the memory of his touch with mine. I don't want a single part of your body to no know my hands, do you understand?" His voice was low, husky, filled with desire.  My eyes drifted shut at his words. A sound of agreement leaves my mouth. He started kissing my jaw. "Has he kissed you here?" he whispered, his words muffled. I nodded. His lips moved from my jaw and worked their way down to my neck, kissing, licking, and slightly sucking.
I could fell his hard-on against my stomach. One of the his hands moved to cup the back of my head, his finger curled into my hair, softly pulling and tilting my head back to give him better access. I moaned. His other hand moved under my shirt, the back of his fingers skimming my stomach before I felt him grip my side, just under my breast. I wasn't wearing a bra. He released his grip on my hair just enough that my head fell forward; he kissed me again, just once. Then I felt his thumb rub against my already straining nipple. He made a moaning sound from deep in his throat, pushing into me. "Has he touched here?"I nodded again.
He replaced his thumb with his hand, covering my entire breast, gently squeezing. "Oh my God," I whispered. My chest heaved with every breath. My legs squeezed together trying to find some form of relief. His other hand moved from my head, to under my shirt and onto my bare back. Then he started to slide it lower, and lower, slowly making it's way under my panties and onto my ass. "Fucking shit, " he spat out, grabbing a handful. "Please don't tell me he's touched you here?"
I kept quiet. "Fuck." He knew the meaning of my silence.
